Our History
Pine Grove Christmas Tree Farm is owned by Greg and Betty Eckart of Charleston. They started tree farming after reading an article in Progressive Farmer about growing Christmas trees in the south. Their first farm was started in Paris, AR in 1978. While operating the farm, they also supplied and ran 1 or 2 (depending on lot availability) tree lots in Fort Smith. In 1985 they purchased their present location with the hopes of building a house and starting another tree farm. They planted their first trees at this site in 1987. After running 2 tree farms and a tree lot for several years, they decided it would be more fun to concentrate on one operation. Thus, the Pine Grove Christmas Tree Farm location was expanded. Their 4 children, Kevin, Julie, Justin, Katie, and their spouses also help. And now their grandchildren are also getting old enough to become involved. The Eckarts love working together as a family and enjoy seeing old friends and making new ones. They appreciate everyone for including them in their Christmas memories.
